Lucy Sugars MSc

Nutritional Therapist in Exeter

Research has shown that we are all unique in our response to various foods, so it’s important to find a way of eating that suits your physiology and tastes! I believe eating should be enjoyable, but that it’s critical to good health to find which foods make you feel your best. Both our gut bacteria and our unique response to carbohydrates and fats in our diet, help create individual responses to different foods. Ever wondered why your partner loses weight easily but you don’t on the same diet? Or why your neighbour feels fantastic going vegan but you have no energy, bloating and feel ravenous all day? My role is to help you figure out the foods that work with your individual needs and goals.

Eating in a way that keeps your blood sugar stable throughout the day, is probably one of the most important things you can do for your health. Whether you have prediabetes, a high HbA1C test result, or Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) and need help to manage these conditions, or you simply want steady energy, clear focus and you don’t want to feel hungry all the time! I am passionate about helping people find ways to eat to support their blood sugar levels, and have nearly a decade of clinical experience in finding the most effective ways to do this that you will enjoy!

Stable and well functioning digestion can feel like the holy grail for people who have had years of uncomfortable and embarrassing symptoms. You aren’t alone. Hundreds of clients have come to me with distressing digestive symptoms that they haven’t been able to understand, or get much support for. Did you know 75% of my clients come to me via personal recommendation? I truly understand the trauma of upsetting digestive symptoms and how they can impact on the quality of your life. The good news is after nearly 10 years of working with people who need my help to resolve uncomfortable symptoms I have an array of effective nutritional solutions we can tailor to your needs.
